On the first weekend in September, the SD Svoboda Sežana shooters organised the national trap league final for 2025. 9 teams and 42 individuals from the first and second national leagues took part in the competition. Unfortunately, the weather was not the best, on the first day we were disturbed by a storm with intermittent strong gusts, and on the second day it was cloudy. However, the weather did not bother the best, as good results were achieved, nevertheless. Igor Macur, the President of the Shooting Federation of Slovenia, took an active part in the competition as a competitor.
Among the teams, SD Trap Ormož won the first place with 333 hits, the second place went to TSK Ptuj shooters, who scored 318 hits. Third place went to SD Vrhnika, who hit 317 targets. Among the individuals in the first league, Denis Vatovec (Vrhnika) scored the highest number of hits (which is also a shooting range record) in the pre-competition, hitting 119 targets (23,22,24,25,25). The second place in the pre-competition went to Matjaž Lepen (Ormož) with 118 hits (23,23,24,23,23,25). The third place was taken by Miha Paternoster (Olimpija), who hit 115 targets (21,25,23,23,23,23,23) before the final. Fourth place after the blast went to Rene Macek (Š. Kovač M. Sobota), who hit 114 targets (21,24,22,24,23), fifth was Dušan Hojnik (Ptuj) with 114 hits (24,21,24,24,22,23), and sixth was Tomaž Blazinšek (Ormož) with 114 hits (22,24,24,24,20,24).
In the final, D. Vatovec won with 46 hits, M. Lepen came second with 42 hits, and D. Hojnik came third with 31 hits.
Among the shooters of the second league, the following competitors qualified for the final: the first place after the preliminary round was taken by Ivan Majerič Jr. (Ptuj) with 107 hits (21,19,22,21,24), second was Milan Pelcl (Radgona) with 106 hits (20,23,23,20,20), third was Aleš Hozjan (Vrhnika) with 103 hits (19,23,21,17,23), fourth Dušan Kos (Rudar Globoko) with 101 hits (17,24,21,21,21,18), fifth Milan Svetec (Radgona) with 99 hits (19,22,20,17,21) and sixth Dario Horaček (Ilirska Bistrica) with 98 hits (18,17,20,21,22).
In the final, the best shooter was D. Kos, who hit 36 targets, second was M. Pelcl, who also hit 36 targets, but was worse in the additional blast. Third place went to M. Svetec, who hit 28 targets.
The trap shooting season is slowly coming to an end and the »winter leagues« season is about to start.
