Turnišče hosted shooters from four countries, rifle winners Urška Kuharič and Gal Potrč, pistol winners Robert Balažic and Stanka Miholič

On Saturday, 7 March 2026, the Turnišče Primary School Sports Hall hosted the 9th International Turnišče Cup in air rifle and air pistol shooting, organised by the Shooting Association Štefan Kovač Turnišče.

The competition was attended by around 90 shooters, who competed in air rifle and air pistol disciplines. There were 65 competitors in air rifle and 26 in air pistol, with representatives of clubs from Slovenia, Croatia, Hungary and Austria taking to the firing line.

This year's competition confirmed the international character and the important place of the Turnišče Cup in the calendar of shooting competitions. The general sponsor of the competition is Municipality of Turnišče.

Urška Kuharič again the best female shooter

In the 10m air rifle discipline, the Slovenian national team confirmed its victory once more Urška Kuharič from the shooting club Kovinar Ormož, who repeated her victory at the Turnišče Cup last year with 624,2 rounds. Second place went to her club colleague Eva Petek from the shooting club Kovinar Ormož with 619,2 rounds, third was Ela Halabarec from the Croatian shooting club Zelenbor with 618.0 rounds.

Potrč repeats last year's victory

Last year's European U18 champion took first place in the air rifle event Gal Potrč from the Shooting Association I. pohorski battalion Ruše, who also repeated last year's victory at the Turnik shooting range with a score of 622.7 rounds. Second place went to his club and national teammate with 622.1 rounds. Patrik Cipot from the Shooting Club I. pohorski battalion Ruše, and the third was the Croatian junior representative Luka Jambreus from the Croatian shooting club Zelenbor with 621.4 rounds.

Team victory for Ruše

In the air rifle team competition, the team won Rifle Association I. Pohorski Battalion Ruše, the second place was won by the team of the Shooting Association Kovinar Ormož, and the third place by the home team from the Shooting Association Štefan Kovač Turnišče.

Balazic best among pistol shooters

In the 10m air pistol members' discipline, the winner was Robert Balazic from the Shooting Club City Ljutomer, who shot 561 rounds. Second place went to Kristjan Vinko from the Shooting Club Trzin with 550 rounds, third was his club mate Stellan Johansson from the Trzin Shooting Club, also with 550 rounds, but with fewer indoor centres.

Miholičeva the best among the members

The most accurate air pistol member was Stanka Miholič from the Shooting Association Jože Kerenčič Miklavž, who scored 537 rounds. Second place went to Nika Trstenjak from the Shooting Club City Ljutomer with 526 rounds.

The air pistol team competition was won by the team Shooting club City Ljutomer, second place went to the Shooting Association Trzin and third place to the Shooting Association Jože Kerenčič Miklavž.

Tomorrow the Mixed Pairs National Championships

Turnišče will also be the venue of shooting action on Sunday, when the 9th National Mixed Pairs Championship in air rifle and air pistol shooting will take place in the same hall. Part of the Olympic programme. The competition will once again bring together the best Slovenian shooters.
