I.Veterans National Competition in 50m
According to the SZS calendar of competitions, on 14.06.2025 the 1st national competition of veteran women in the disciplines serial MK rifle 50m prone, rifle 50m prone and pistol 50m was held in the organisation of SD Svečina. The serial MK Rifle 50m prone was conducted in accordance with the Rules of the Veterans' National Competitions, and the disciplines MK Rifle 50m prone and 50m pistol were added for which there had been interest in the past to participate in these disciplines. These disciplines have already been proposed by the SZS to be included in the rules of veterans' competitions.
The national veterans' competition had 64 starts and competitors came from seventeen shooting clubs. Unfortunately, the date of the competition overlapped with one of the larger national veterans' competitions, which resulted in a slightly lower attendance.
In the most numerous discipline with serial MK rifle 50m prone, Jurij GOLIČNIK from SD Mrož Velenje won among veterans 50+. The silver medal went to Ivan RIHTER from SD Ljubno and the bronze to Robert ČASAR from ŠSD Murska Sobota. In the 60+ and 70+ competition Viktor SLATINEK from SD Dolič won, second place went to Martin HUDALES from the same association, third place went to Roman RADEJ from SD Kamnik. The 1st place trophy went to the team from SD Dolič, the second place to the team from SD Svečina and the third place to the team from ŠSD Murska Sobota.
In the MK rifle 50m prone was a common age category, the best result was achieved by Marjan HORVAT from SD Janko Jurkovič Videm. The silver medal went to Franc ŠROK from SD Svečina and the bronze to Jani UMNIK from SD Predoslje. The first place in the team competition went to the veterans of SD Svečina and the second to the veterans of SD Kidričevo.
The very popular 50m pistol discipline, which is shot by quite a lot of competitors over 50 years of age in the regular SZS competition system, attracted only twenty-three competitors to the veterans' competition this time. Ludvik PŠAJD (SD Juršinci) won the 50+ competition, Jasmin BEGANOVIC from SD Svečina came second and Anton BAVEC from SD Olimpija third.
In the combined 60+ and 70+ age category, the »real« veteran shooter Roman RADEJ from SD Kamnik won the bronze medal in the air rifle competition. The other two medals went to two passionate competitors from SD Grosuplje, the silver to Anton LESAR and the bronze to Franci IVANCE.
The first place in the 50m pistol team was won by the veterans of SD Grosuplje, second place by SD Olimpija and third place by SD Svečina.
There was a slightly lower turnout in both disciplines among veteran women, so the age categories were also combined. The victory in both disciplines, with the serial MK rifle and the 50m rifle, went to Vesna MELE from SD Tovarne cukru Ormož. Alenka BABIČ from SD Svečina and Marta TETIČKOVIČ RANFL from SD Tovarne cukru Ormož exchanged places in the disciplines and each won one silver and one bronze medal.
