Manja Slak becomes European champion

The Slovenian air rifle and pistol team started today their performances at the European Championships in Armenia.

The first day of competition brought great joy as Manja Slak qualified for the final with a 7th place in the qualification round.

In the final, she performed superbly and was only 0.6 laps behind first place. She proudly stepped on the 2nd podium and won the silver medal.

First place went to Veronika Major from Hungary and third place to Antoanteta Konstadinova from Bulgaria.

Anja Prezelj, Denis Bola Ujčič and Sašo Stojak also competed in the air pistol event.

Air rifle shooters also competed on the shooting lines in mixed pairs. Slovenia was represented by two mixed pairs. The first pair consisted of Urška Hrašovec and Jure Sočič. They came 32nd. The second pair consisted of Živa Dvoršak and Maksimilijan Žarić. They won 42nd place out of 50 pairs.

Urška finished 59th and Živa 60th out of 89 competitors.
As a team, they finished 11th out of 19 teams.
Maksimilijan Žarić, Jure Sočič and Luka Lukić were among the strong male competitors.
The youngest Slovenian shooter, 18 years old, was the highest among Slovenian shooters,
