National Championship with Rifle and Pistol 50m
The 36th National 50-meter Shooting Championship took place at the Pragersko shooting range on June 27th and 28th, 2026. The two-day event, organised by the Svečina Shooting Society, attracted numerous competitors from all over Slovenia, who competed in various disciplines.
The youngest opened the competition
The competition took place in hot summer conditions, which presented an additional challenge for all participants. Despite the high temperatures, the competitors demonstrated excellent preparedness, focus, and sportsmanship, achieving some outstanding results.
The older boys and girls kicked off the national championships this time with their first appearances. In the 50m prone standard air rifle discipline, Marsel Česen (SD GRO) became champion, with Samo Kustura winning the silver medal and Timi Čeperlin taking third place, both from SD DPR. The team championship was won by SD Dušan Poženel Rečica, ahead of SD Grosuplje. In the girls' competition, Hana Hajšek (SD KID) became national champion, with Fatima Patković from SD IPB in second place. In the three-position discipline, Timi Čeperlin was champion, Samo Kustura took second place (both from SD DPR), and Faris Patković (SD IPB) secured third place.
Pistol shooters defend last year's titles
In all three categories of the 50m pistol, last year's national champions repeated their success this year – among the women, Majda Raušl (SK PTU), in the most numerous discipline among men, Blaž Kunšek (SD MVE), and among the juniors, Miha Fras (SD PRO).
They were joined on the podium by: Sonja Benčina and Urška Strnad (SD OLI), Bojan Fras (SD PRO) and Rok Pučko (SD JUR), Domen Ahlin (SD KAM) and Renee Lenzi (SD DPR). The team club national champions were SD Proarmis, second place SD Juršinci, and third were SD Grosuplje.
No surprises at the top for the juniors
The national champion in youth rifle 50m prone is Maksimilijan Žarić (SD OLI), with silver going to Gal Potrč and bronze to Patrik Cipot (both SD IPB).

To conclude Saturday's competition, members, junior women, and junior cadets competed in rifle 50m prone. The following stepped onto the podium:

Second day of competition dominated by rifle 3-position discipline
On Sunday, the 50m rifle three positions competition was held. First up were the women, junior men, junior women, and cadets.
In the women's competition, the national champion was Živa Dvoršak (SD OLI), the silver medal went to Urška Kuharič (SD KOR), and the bronze was won by Urška Hrašovec (SD IPB). In the junior men's competition, Gal Potrč won the gold medal, Patrik Cipot (both SD IPB) took silver, and Maksimilijan Žarić (SD OLI) won bronze. In the junior women's competition, Lana Kužnik (SD GRO) was the best, Tara Potrč (SD IPB) took second place, and Lara Miholič Ilc (SD OLI) took third place. In the cadet men's competition, Vid Trček (SD GRO) shot his way to the gold medal, the silver went to Matjaž Lipovšek (SD DPR), and Luka Zavadlav (SD OLI) won bronze.
The members concluded the competition. In a tense final, Luka Lukić secured the gold, Aljaž Kerlatec (both SD TRZ) won the silver medal, and Robert Markoja (SD ŠKT) took the bronze medal. The team national champions were SD Štefan Kovač Turnišče, with SD Trzin coming in second.
Success of associations
Despite the largest turnout at the 36th National Championship, competitors from SD I. Pohorski bataljon Ruše also won the most podium places, but eleven awards, according to the quality of medals, only ranked them seventh. With five golds and one silver and bronze each, competitors from SD Grosuplje took first place in the rankings. They are followed by SD Dušan Poženel Rečica pri Laškem (3-5-2) and SD Trzin (2-3-1).
