The Shooting Federation awards for the best female and male shooters were presented to

The winners of the Best Female Shooter awards in 2020 and 2021 are:

 CLAUDIA JEROVŠEK from SD Grosuplje and LIVING DOORSHAKE from SD Olimpija

Strelka:           KLAVDIJA JEROVŠEK, SD Grosuplje

Klavdija Jerovšek, a member of the Grosuplje Shooting Club, won the coveted Best Female Shooter of the Year award for the first time. Klavdija's biggest success of the season came at the European Air Rifle Championships in Wroclaw, where she finished in a high 10th place, missing the final by only two tenths. She won two national titles, gold in the air rifle at the DP in Ormož and in Pragersko with small calibre rifle in triple position at 50m. Klavdija also won the second place in the overall standings of the 1st National Air Rifle League.

Strelka:           ŽIVA DVORŠAK, SD Olimpija

Živa Dvoršak, an Olympian and member of the Olimpija Shooting Club, won her seventh title of the best female shooter of the year.This is the eleventh prestigious title of the best female shooter of the year for her, with four consecutive laurels in the junior competition. Ziva competed for the third time at the Olympic Games - in Tokyo - and became the first Slovenian shooter to qualify for the final of the 50m small calibre rifle in the triple position, where she finished in 7th place. She completed her Olympic success with 11th place in air rifle. In a very successful Olympic year, she won the European team title in air rifle at the European Championships in Osijek. Her first milestone of the season came with the historic first Slovenian women's victory at the ISSF World Cup in New Delhi, India, which consolidated her high position in the ISSF World Ranking and qualified her for her third Olympic Games. She achieved further success at the ISSF World Cup in Osijek, where she finished second in air rifle. Her high rankings in all the major competitions of the season also enabled her to compete in the so-called World Cup Final or President's Cup in Wroclaw, Poland, where she finished 11th in air rifle and 8th in small calibre rifle at 50m. In 2021, Ziva won three national titles, 10m air rifle and 50m small calibre rifle in prone and triple position. She also won the individual air rifle title, putting the icing on the cake of an outstanding season.

Sagittarius:      BOŠTJAN MAČEK, SD Trap Štefan Kovač Murska Sobota, JOŽE ČEPER, SD Dušan Poženel Rečica pri Laškem

For the first time in history, two shooters have won the coveted 2020 Top Scorer award. Boštjan Maček became the best shooter for the fifth time, Štefan Kovač from Murska Sobota, a two-time Olympian and member of SD Trap, and Jože Čeper, a member of SD Dušan Poženel from Rečice pri Laškem, won his first title of the best shooter of the year.

The 2018 European Champion achieved his best result of the year at February's International Grand Prix in Nicosia, Cyprus, where he qualified for the final with the best result and won the prestigious gold medal, beating the reigning Olympic champion. He was also successful at the ISSF World Cup, also in Cyprus, where he finished 24th. He finished the season by winning his thirteenth individual national trap title in Ilirska Bistrica.

Jože Čeper is the first pistol shooter to win the coveted title of the best shooter in 2020, most notably at the National Championships in Rečica pri Laškem, where he won three national titles at 25m: with a small-calibre rapid-fire pistol, with a standard small-calibre pistol and with a large-calibre pistol or centrefire pistol. Jože also won the title of national champion with air pistol at the DP in Ormož, and set five new national records, both in individual and team competition.

Sagittarius:                       RAJMOND DEBEVEC, SD Olimpija

The coveted Best Shooter of the Year 2021 award went to Olympic gold medallist Rajmond Debevec, a member of the Olimpija Shooting Club, for whom it is the 35th award. The year 2021 was again very rich in shooting successes for the 58-year-old Olympic and World Champion. Raymond's greatest achievement of the season came at the European Championships in Osijek, when he won bronze with a large-calibre rifle in the 300m prone event. He added to his individual success with a team bronze in the large calibre rifle 300m triple position. He was also unbeatable at the National Small Calibre Rifle Championships in the 50m prone and triple position, where he won two more gold medals and the national championship title. He capped off an excellent season with three new national records.

The winners of the Best Junior in 2020 and 2021 are:

 ANJA PREZELJ from SD Lotrič Železniki and KATARINA FEVŽER from SD Slovenske Konjice

Youth:       ANJA PREZELJ, SD Lotrič Železniki

The third consecutive Best Junior of 2020 was won by Anja Prezelj, a member of the Shooting Club Lotrič Železniki and a participant of the Youth Olympic Games in Buenos Aires 2018, who was also the Best Junior in 2019 and 2018. Anja's greatest success came at the National Championships in Ormoz, where she won the gold medal and the title of national air pistol champion. With her outstanding shooting and an average score of over 568 rounds, she was also unbeatable in the National Youth League, where she achieved five individual victories and also won the title of Air Pistol League Champion. Anja also became the national champion in small calibre pistol at 25m and set seven new national records in both individual and team competition.

Youth:       KATARINA FEVŽER, SD Slovenske Konjice

The best junior of 2021 was won by Katarina Fevžer, then a member of the Shooting Association Slovenske Konjice and now a member of the Shooting Sports Association Murska Sobota. This is her third title of the best female shooter of the year, having won two titles of the best female cadet of the year in 2018 and 2017. Katarina's biggest success of the year came at the European Championships in Osijek, when she placed 11th with air rifle, and she was even more successful with small calibre rifle in the triple position at 50m, when she qualified for the final with a new qualification national record, finishing in 7th place. Katarina also achieved a great success at the National Championships in Ljubljana, when she qualified for the final in the absolute members' competition and finally won the bronze medal as the youngest finalist. She then went on to win the gold medal among juniors with small calibre rifle in prone position at the National Championships in Pragersko over 50m and fifth place among members with small calibre rifle in triple position over 50m. In addition, she became the Junior League Air Rifle Champion with five medals and two wins.

The winners of the Best Junior in 2020 and 2021 are:

JAN HRIBAR from SD Jože Kovačič Šentvid pri Stični and MATIJA KECELJ from SD Domžale

Junior:       JAN HRIBAR, SD Jože Kovačič Šentvid pri Stični

The title of the best junior in 2020 was won for the first time by Jan Hribar, a member of the Shooting Association Jože Kovačič Šentvid pri Stični. Jan's greatest success came at the National Championships in Recica pri Laškem, when he won the national junior title with small calibre pistol at 25m. He was also very successful with the rapid-fire pistol, setting two new junior qualification national records and finishing fourth in the absolute category with the members at the DP. He was also unbeatable in the junior DP with standard pistol at 25m.

Junior:       MATIJA KECELJ, SD Domžale

The title of the best junior in 2021 was won for the first time by Matija Kecelj, a member of the Domžale Shooting Club. Matija's greatest success came at the National Championships in Ljubljana, when he won the gold medal among juniors and the title of national champion with air pistol. He also won his second national championship title of the season with small calibre pistol at 25m. He also performed well at the European Championships in Osijek, where he came 15th in the 25m small calibre pistol. He was also successful in the National Youth League, winning the overall league title with three victories at the end of the season.

The recipients of the Best Cadet award in 2020 and 2021 are:

 SARA SLAK from SD Grosuplje and ZOJA KALIN from SD Dušan Poženel Rečica pri Laškem

Cadet:       SARA SLAK, SD Grosuplje

Sara Slak, a member of the Grosuplje Shooting Club, won the Best Cadet of 2020 trophy for the first time. Sara won her first title of the best female shooter in 2017, when she was the best pioneer. She won two gold medals at the National Championships with air rifle and small calibre rifle in triple position, thus becoming a two-time Cadet National Champion. She completed her success in air rifle in the National Cadet League, where she achieved five consecutive victories and also won the league title.

Cadet:       ZOJA Kalin, SD Dušan Poženel Rečica pri Laškem

The laurel of the best cadet in 2021 was won for the first time by Zoja Kalin, a member of the shooting club Dušan Poženel Rečica pri Laškem, who won two titles of the best female shooter of the year in the youngest category of girls and pioneer girls in 2019 and 2018. Zoja's best results came at the National Small Calibre Rifle Championships, when she won the title of national champion in the cadet girls' lying down discipline and bronze in the triple position. She was also successful at the National Air Rifle Championships, where she came fourth, and in the Cadet National League, where she also came fourth.

The recipients of the Best Cadet Award in 2020 and 2021 are:

LUKA LUKIĆ from SD Trzin and MITJA DOLŠINA from SD Gorjanci

Cadet:             LUKA LUKIĆ, SD Trzin

The second consecutive Best Cadet of 2020 title went to Luka Lukić, a member of the Trzin Shooting Club. Luka's greatest success came at the National Championships in Ormoz, where he won the title of Junior National Champion. He also shot very well in the National Youth League, where he won four victories in five tournaments and won the overall and the league title among juniors. He also competed successfully in international competitions in Smederevo, Trzin and Ruse.

Cadet:             MITJA DOLŠINA, SD Gorjanci

The best cadet of 2021 was Mitja Dolšina, a member of the Gorjanci Shooting Club. Mitja's greatest success came at the National Championships in Ljubljana, where he won the gold medal and enjoyed the title of Cadet National Champion with air pistol. He was also successful in the National Cadet League, where he finished fourth overall with one individual bronze.

The winners of the Best Girl award in 2020 and 2021 are:

TIANA JOSIĆ from SD Grosuplje and HANA STRAKUŠEK from SD 1956 Trbovlje

Girl:          TIANA JOSIĆ, SD Grosuplje

The title of the best girl in 2020 went to Tiana Josić, a member of the Grosuplje Shooting Club. Tiana was the best by winning the gold medal at the National Air Pistol Championship among older girls. She was also unbeatable in the National Air Pistol League, winning the overall victory in five tournaments. She complemented her excellent shooting season with two national air pistol records.

Girl:          HANA STRAKUŠEK, SD 1956 Trbovlje

The title of the best girl in 2021 went to Hana Strakušek, a member of the 1956 Trbovlje Shooting Club. Hana achieved the best result of the season by winning the gold medal and the title of cadet national champion with air rifle at the DP in Ljubljana. She also won the gold medal and the national championship title with small calibre rifle in the 50m prone position among the cadet women, and the national runner-up title with small calibre rifle in the triple position at 50m.

The winners of the Best Boy award in 2020 and 2021 are:

VALTER DRAŠLER from SD Juršinci and RENE CVERLE from SD Celjska četa Mala Breza

Decek:            VALTER DRAŠLER, SD Juršinci

The title of the best boy in 2020 went to Valter Drašler, a member of the shooting club Juršinci. Valter's greatest success came at the National Championships in Ljubljana, when he won the title of National Champion in the older boys' category with his air pistol. He completed his success in the National Air Pistol League, where he won three individual tournaments and won the title of league champion among older boys. He also set two individual and one team national records.

Decek:            RENE CVERLE, SD Celjska četa Mala Breza

The title of the best boy in 2021 went to Rene Cverle, a member of the Celjska četa Mala Breza Shooting Club. Rene's greatest success came at the National Championships in Ljubljana, when he won bronze with air pistol in the older boys' category. He was also successful in the air pistol league competition, winning the Cadet League Championship with three individual medals and one victory.

The Association:          Shooting Association DUŠAN POŽENEL REČICA PRI LAŠKEM

The title of the Best Shooting Association of the Year was awarded to the Dušan Poženel Shooting Association Rečica pri Laškem for the 13th and 14th time so far. Rečica shooters won the title for the first time in 1998 and reigned on top for eight consecutive years, until 2005. In its 70 years of activity, the Rečica Shooting Association has successfully continued with a string of excellent achievements of its members in numerous competitions, championship, league, as well as the biggest international ones. Their shooters have excellent conditions for training at the renovated shooting range in Recica pri Laškem, which offers a 12-position air rifle range, a 12-position 25m range and a 12-position 50m range. With a modernised shooting range, as desired by many shooting centres in Slovenia, competent professional staff and a large shooting sub-team, the Shooting Association Dušan Poženel Rečica pri Laškem is paving the way to a successful shooting future.

The Presidency of the Shooting Federation of Slovenia and the Commission for Organisation, Personnel and Promotion of the Shooting Federation of Slovenia would like to extend their sincere congratulations to all the award winners and their coaches.
