The awards for the best marksmen and markswomen went to :
Strelka: LIVING DOORSHAKE from the Olimpija Shooting Club
For the fourth time in the women's competition and four times in a row before that in the junior competition, the title of the best female shooter of 2016 went to two-time Olympian and member of SD Olimpija, Živa Dvoršak. With her 17th place at the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, 7th and 8th place at the European Championships in Győr, Hungary, and other excellent achievements at World Cups and other international and domestic competitions, she has once again proved that she is a versatile top athlete-shooter who, with her strong will and hard training, achieves excellent results in various shooting disciplines and is a role model for many young female shooters.
Sagittarius: BOŠTJAN MAČEK from the Shooting Club Trap Štefan Kovač Murska Sobota
The laurel of the best trap shooter in 2016 was awarded for the third time to Boštjan Maček, a member of SD Trap Štefan Kovač Murska Sobota, a two-time Olympian in shotgun shooting in the trap discipline. With his 22nd place at the (biggest) sporting event of the year, the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, and his 13th place at the European Championship in Lonato, Boštjan deservedly won this flattering title.
Cadet: URŠKA HRAŠOVEC from the Rifle Association I. Pohorski Battalion Ruše
Member of the SD I. Pohorski Battalion Ruše, Urška Hrašovec, is not an unknown name in shooting sport, as she has already won the title of Shooter of the Year in the pioneer category twice, and this year she won the title of the best female shooter in the cadet competition for the second time. She earned the title by winning the national championship title with 10m air rifle, four national records, other excellent results at national championships and first place in the overall ranking of the national cadet league.
Cadet: MATIJA DEMŠAR from the Shooting Club Škofja Loka
Matija Demšar, a member of SD Škofja Loka, won his first title of the best shooter of the year in the cadet competition with three national championship titles in different pistol disciplines and three national records, one individual and two team records.
Youth: JAGODA TKALEC From Shooting club Dušan Poženel Rečica pri Laškem
Jagoda Tkalec, a member of SD Dušan Poženel Rečica pri Laškem, won the title of the best female shooter in the junior competition with excellent results in 10m air pistol and 25m small calibre pistol shooting at home competitions. She and Jože Čepro won fourth place at the EP in Győr in the new discipline of air pistol 10m mixed pairs. This discipline is proposed to be included in the official Olympic programme at the next Olympic Games. Jagoda Tkalec has been named Shooter of the Year twice so far, once each in the Cadet and Pioneer competitions.
Junior: ŽAN KELENC from the Črenšovci Sports Association
In 2016, a member of the Črenšovci Sports Association, Žan Kelenc, won or equalled five national records in 10m air rifle and 50m small calibre rifle shooting, and won the national championship titles in 10m air rifle and 50m rifle in prone position, reached for the highest places at other national championships, won the first place in the overall ranking of the National Youth League and qualified for the finals at the International Shooting Hopes competition in Pilsen, and finally won the 7th place in the National Youth League. 7th place.
Pioneer: NAJA PREZELJ from the Shooting Club Lotrič Železniki
Among the pioneer women, Naja Prezelj, a member of SD Lotrič Železniki, is looking forward to her second title of the best shooter. She shoots with air rifle and small calibre rifle and won the national championship titles in shooting with small calibre rifle in prone and triple position. Despite her young age, she knows that she can only achieve such results through hard work and perseverance.
Pioneer: NIK MOTHER from the shooting club Dušan Poženel Rečica pri Laškem
In the pioneer competition, Nik Matek, a member of SD Dušan Poženel Rečica pri Laškem, won the best pioneer title for the third time in a row. He shoots air rifle and small calibre rifle and won the national championship this year. In shooting with a serial small calibre rifle in prone and triple position.

During the last competition in the Junior National League in the 2015/2016 season, Luke Ušeničnik, a member of the Shooting Association Škofja Loka, broke his pistol in the junior 10m air pistol competition. Jagoda Tkalec lent him her pistol without hesitation so that he could finish his performance and contribute to the victory of his team in the last tournament of the season, winning the second place in the overall ranking of the National Youth League.It should be emphasized that they were great rivals for the final team ranking.
